WhereProject Management starts
The
Association for Project Management (APM) has introduced a benchmark
qualification in Project Management which they call the APMP (Association
for Project Management Professional). This benchmark level provides a
good platform for the skill courses which are available such as Risk,
Value and Procurement.
This Introduction course is based upon the APM BoK and the APMP Syllabus and therefore will act as a foundation course for the APMP qualification, if a qualification in Project Management is the aim, or if a qualification is not required the course will provide a sound knowledge of the processes used by successful project managers.
The reasons why projects are successful and why they may fail are vitally important to understand if we are to ensure the dependable success of all of our projects. We need to learn from our past and to embrace best practice as developed over time.
For anyone who is involved in projects, even at a distance, this course will establish a solid foundation of understanding of the tools and techniques required to make a project a success and to guard against those issues which can result in project failure.
Because the course is based on the APM BoK and the APMP Syllabus it will provide a suitable training path for all those involved in project management. This course would provide a path to:
APMP (Association for Project Management Professional)Project Management Professional)
RM SQ ~ Risk Management Specific Qualification
VM SQ ~ Value Management Specific Qualification
Procurement SQ ~ Procurement Specific Qualification
CPM ~ Certificated Project Manager
The course can be run in-house or as a public course but is most popular as an in-house course where it can be modified to suit particular types of projects and specific tools available.
The course presentation is covered in the Contents, Learning, Reading List and Timetable sheets. The tutors are practitioners.
A 30 minute exam can be provided to indicate the level of learning.
This is an excellent course and is focused on achieving practical understanding.
