Our
Workshops
Workshops are now part of the fabric of business life. They are nothing new, a gathering
of participants to discuss how to accomplish some objective through interaction
and exchange of information and problem solving. What has changed over the years
is the understanding of the effective facilitation of such events. So the information
and knowledge to arrive at the objectives remains with the participants, whereas
the skill to abstract it, use it effectively to solve problems and arrive at a consensus
is with the facilitator.
The process is usually made interesting and enjoyable with the use of games, exercises
and case studies which engage everyone and allow them to freely take part without
hint of rancor. It is the facilitation which makes workshops so valuable to business
and projects.
The world today is complex and every person’s view of it is influenced by unique
background and experiences. It is not only likely that workshop participants will
have different points of view but this diversity is also essential in order to explore
the fringes of each topic. The facilitator will have the ability to manage the group
and allow everyone to take an equal place in the discussions and formulation of
the solutions. The games and exercises will be focused on creating the environment
and the energy levels within the group to sustain the effort in arriving at a solution.
The facilitator is often external to create a completely level playing field and
avoid existing tensions, conflicts, and politics. Some methods may be chosen to reverse
role play to introduce the opposite views and provide them a good airing. Sometimes
there are benefits of using internal facilitators too and in these cases two facilitators,
internal and external, may be the best solution.
We have provided some details of particular types of workshop on the content pages
but the benefit of workshops is largely to do with the ability to manage the uniqueness
of the topic and therefore bespoke workshops are the norm. The details provided
on the content pages are simply as a guide to what can be made available for your
workshops.
All the workshop methods, games and exercises are upgraded regularly and evaluated
on a continuous basis to maintain quality. Participants are invited to become involved
in the evaluation throughout.
Attendance Certificates are always provided.
