Team Building

Description:

This one-day workshop is focused on building productive teams.

Teams are groups of people with improved performance. Teams don’t just happen. They have to be created and developed and this workshop provides a quick and effective way of getting a team up and running as quickly as possible so they can be ready for the task ahead. This workshop is focused on understanding the nature of teams, the need for teams, team roles, motivation, risk in relationships and the necessity to collaboratively work together to gain the best performance within their capability without undue stress or strain in an environment where all can benefit from the effort willingly provided.

Forming the team is a process of breaking down barriers and accelerating the process of getting to know each other. Members may be optomistic during this period but generally not willing to be too open. The course looks at the factors which stand in the way of progress at this point and through role play shows that openness is more beneficial for the members.

The course looks at performance and the manner in which it should be measured and the format of feedback. Productivity in teams is key because if a team is not working to an enhanced performance it is no longer a team. The level of performance, however, is set by the team and experience has shown that some teams can be extreme performers. However, the reasons for this are complex and it is difficult to mandate. Each team develops energy but only part of this is available for work, this being the personality of the team. So, the course looks at motivation and the conditions under which teams prosper.

Understanding why people behave as they do, what their strengths and weaknesses are, helps us to recognise our personality. Sometimes even understanding ourselves is the catalyst for improved relationships. Teams are the same.

Team building is an effective way to jump start enhanced performance.

An Attendance Certificate will be provided at the end of this workshop.
