Description:
This two-day workshop on partnering and alliancing covers an important topic which
can lead to substantial gain immediately and in long term partnerships.
In this fast changing world we often forget to take the time to sit down with our
friends and colleagues to re-establish the reasons we do things. There is too much
pressure to take care of in business, often at the expense of those we rely on.
Professionalism is also under commercial pressure and so even at those usually reliable
levels we cannot depend on constantly achieving what is best for business. Collaboration,
in the form of “partnering” or “alliancing”, is a process which is squarely aimed
at rediscovering the benefits of working more closely with those whom we rely on
and those who rely on us. Partnering is a stop gap, it replaces what was there before
but which expediency has expelled. We all know this is the right thing to do but
re-establishing these lost relationships is a long and expensive process.
Partnering workshops are well established as viable and enjoyable events which remind
us of all the reasons why we should do the right thing and why what we currently
do may harm us. This may be a short process but most likely it is a series of workshops
aimed at various levels and processes necessary for collaboration to persist and
develop. Learning is through case studies and individual and group exercises each
with a focus on an essential issue. Group discussions add to the experience of the
group and offer real life concerns for solution. The energy of the workshop is constantly
topped up with trust creating exercises.
Partnering is a process focused on creating an environment in which professionals
and like minded people can work together in a mutually beneficial way which makes
them most productive. The focus will be on the client but it will also be mindful
of all the parties’ desire to be respected and their work properly valued.
Alliancing is simply the legalization of basically the same process although other
additional issues will also be considered.
An Attendance Certificate will be provided at the end of this skill course.
