Project
Skills
Project management relies on strong capability, competence and a high level of skills.
It is a “doing” role which suits those with an ability and determination to manage
their environment skillfully and effectively. Project managers create momentum and
develop the environment for success through a practical understanding of how things
work and how best to get things done. This not only requires knowledge but a profound
understanding of how knowledge is translated into practice. Experience of previous
projects helps to create the understanding of what works and what doesn’t under
the special circumstances of each project. Few of these skills are natural, they
all need to be learnt and practised until gradually the whole is created and you
are acknowledged as a project manager.
This whole process of personal development must start with the knowledge.
The skill courses listed here are some of the more common skills you will need to
command. In all of these courses the translation of the knowledge into practice
depends on the particular circumstances. To make the material more related to your
business, we will use case studies from your industry and, if we can, from your
company.
If the skills you need do not appear here, please talk to us as the development
of courses is a large part of our work.
