Description:
This one-day training course explores the interactions and processes
between Management, Project Managers, Team Leaders and Team Members.
Project management involves a challenging interaction of project
processes, complex supply chains, professional and other personnel,
delivery content and characteristics, internal and external teams and
leadership versus management. It is hard to say who is actually “leading”
in complex projects when the natural phases of the work transfer focus from
one organisation to another. There is also the management of every part
progressing at various levels of expertise and urgency depending on the
circumstances of the separate agreements.
Leadership is the ability to provide direction, motivation, the means
and the momentum towards a goal. Leaders have many other vital attributes
which they call upon in getting their way and we will discuss these as we
go through this one-day course. This course progresses through the project
life cycle from concept to completion, and examines/applies the key project
processes at each phase from the point of view of the leadership. We look
at the differences between management and leadership and how they can
compliment each other.
There are many levels of leadership but in projects leadership is the
ability to create an environment in which others can manage their success
and in so doing help the project to be successful. Project leadership is
not a position of focus only but a live action creating force aimed at
constantly moving in the determined direction and creating the momentum
which successful projects depend on.
Over the decades there have been many studies of leadership and many have
simply shown there is not a clear consensus of the traits of this important
role though there are many characteristics which would seem to be desirable
in a successful leader. One thing which has been generally agreed upon is
that leadership can be learnt and if this is true then this would seem to be
an invaluable business skill for the future.
This is an interesting course which you will find important to the bottom
line on your projects.
An Attendance Certificate will be provided upon completion of the
course.
