Introduction to Project Management

Description:

This two-day course is accredited by the Association for Project Management (APM) and leads to the Certificate in Project Management.

The Introduction to Project Management course is based upon the APM Body of Knowledge (BoK) and the Introductory Certificate Syllabus - 2nd Edition and will act as a route to the APM foundation qualification - the APMP, if a qualification in Project Management is the aim. If a qualification is not required, the course will provide a sound knowledge of the processes used by successful project managers today.

For anyone who is involved in projects, even at a distance, this introductory course will establish a solid foundation of understanding of the processes and the tools and techniques adopted to make a project a success and to guard against those issues which we know can result in project failure.

Projects are everywhere around us today and it is inevitable that we will all be involved in them at some stage. Business is constantly changing and it is the management of this change that we refer to as project or change management. It is important to all clients that these changes take place in an environment of confident control even though it is understood that many projects can be extremely challenging.

If we are to ensure the dependable success of all of our projects, it is vitally important to understand why some projects are successful and some are not. We need to learn equally from our own past mistakes and successes and also the experience of others in order to recognise best practice as developed over time.

This is a very intensive course which includes several exercises and group activities to consolidate the learning and to make the Certificate in Project Management qualification as accessible as possible. The course is most often run in-house to provide more flexibility on timing, more focus on your projects and more convenience for taking the examination.

An Attendance Certificate will be provided at the end of the course.
