Contract and Procurement

Description:

This four-day course is based on an essential project skill.

This course provides a complete look at this complex issue of managing the project in accordance with the Agreements signed. Agreements today can be complicated because of the risks involved to the parties, particularly the client, in the undertaking of projects both large and small. The larger the project the greater the risks and the more effort is required to skillfully and thoughtfully manage the project to ensure that each party benefits as was anticipated, resulting in success for the project and success for the parties. Of course issues do occur, but even in the disruption and disputes which may arise the project must still be navigated toward a successful conclusion.

This four day course is about how control is achieved from the very beginning when a client is able to define his needs, through the selection process of projects, participants and contract types to the implementation of the project and the complexities of change within a highly dynamic environment to the final account and reviews.

Over the years more and more focus has been placed on Contract Management. As risks and expectations increase, the opportunity for disputes is also increased and successful completion is progressively threatened. Contract Management has become a most important process which can often determine the success of the project as a whole.

The course includes a mixture of sessions including lectures/discussions and individual/syndicate exercises. Issues addressed will include conceptual aspects of Contract Management, practical tools and techniques. Delegates will understand the benefit of using the project management approach as a contract management style, encouraging individuals to be proactive and challenging in delivering and maximising benefits to the company. During the course delegates are encouraged to challenge issues and take a positive role in improving their own effectiveness.

A Certificate of Attendance will be provided at the end of the course.
