Manage Your Time and Work Smarter

Description:

This one-day course on managing your time and working smarter covers an important general topic.

We often refer to the management of our time but usually what is meant is the management of our work in the company’s time. In other words, the management of time is really the management of efficiency and working smarter is part of the solution to this problem. “Smarter” is from the mnemonics used in project management – SMART, which often refers to Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time-bound. Managing your time is an important behaviour which can lead to success in business where efficiency is important.

Habits are learnt and formed irrationally, and they affect us all in different ways. We get to work late, we work late, we drink too much coffee and we talk too much and so on. They creep up on us and affect how we do things. Some habits may results in inefficiencies. Unwillingness to plan work thoroughly is also a great weakness in many people. This course therefore approaches this topic in a practical way by looking at common habits and general behaviour and understanding what can be done to replace habits with better and more productive habits.

Smarter working is a process of identifying areas of behaviour which hinder us from getting things done. This course looks at the nature of work and the environment in which work is performed. It considers the interrelationships which exist and the manner in which transactions are managed across often complex and dynamic workspace. It also considers the process of benchmarking for the purpose of measuring continuous improvement.

This course is about developing an efficient and productive work group through an understanding of behaviour and effective time planning of work. It also looks at many time-saving strategies which will help individuals work more effectively and happily. This is an essential skill in business which will result in substantial productivity gains.

An Attendance Certificate will be provided at the end of this skill course.
