Description:
This two-day course covers an important business skill.
It has long been recognised that teams can be very productive. In fact
that is what a team is – a very productive group of people. But to be really
effective, teams need to have a constantly changing target – something new
to revitalize their efforts; otherwise they can quickly lose focus and
performance. Teams therefore are about performance and so it must be
measured and used to help the team improve and excel. There are many types
of team and each has a specialized purpose. One team does not fit all
purposes and each must be formed and developed for a purpose.
This course is intended to provide the knowledge required to be able to
create productive and confident teams. The role each team member plays has
an impact on the outcome and so selection must be based on capability and
personality. Everyone is different, each with strengths and weaknesses.
These have to be recognised and deployed so that strengths are the focus and
weaknesses are controlled.
The course will look at team identification, design, development and
performance. There are many tools which can help us through this process,
making outcomes more dependable and clients more satisfied. The course will
look at the evaluation of teams and individuals within teams with a focus on
performance and development. It will look at collaboration and the means by
which teams can interrelate with ever increasing benefits and successful
outcomes.
Teams are known to be very productive, but it is not automatic. Simply
putting people together does not make a team. Teams are built just like
organisations are built; by choosing the right people with the right skills
to do the work the business benefits from.
The course will use interesting case studies to anchor the learning and
challenge the concepts. This course has business performance
implications.
An Attendance Certificate will be provided at the end of this skill
course.
