Corporate
Blended Training
Corporate Blended Training is our solution to providing continuous training programmes
over a long period of time in an affordable manner. By building the programme on
your particular business, it creates a connection between new training material
and your current practices. Medium term in-house programmes provide the opportunity
for substantial cost savings and therefore better value. The process starts with
a needs analysis which provides the gap between current practice and the anticipated
business position driven by your business objectives.
The blending is between the developing skill set and the existing skill set to create
the smoothest transition to new business practices. We believe this will provide
busy people with a more measured development of their skill set and an opportunity
to positively challenge and validate the anticipated practices.
Corporate blended training can itself be a catalyst of change, drawing people into
discussion and debate in a controlled environment and focusing on gaining support
for the changes ahead.
Corporate Blended Training is a cost effective approach to quickly acquire new skills
and competences in parallel with the changes that business has to make in order
to benefit from the new opportunities and challenges in this fast paced globalised
business community.
Specialised
Long Programmes
York Consulting Group are now developing training programmes for Professional Service
Providers in the construction industry.
There is a great opportunity within the construction industry to become the leader,
and so businesses are looking to the future and the additional skills required to
develop their human resources. This is a very interesting process of enlightenment
which suggests that change will embrace many aspects of business, something not
often considered in the typical construction circles today.
Our programmes are developed as corporate blended – blending best practice into
the existing in-house training. Short programmes are developed based on several
discrete parts of a topic to form a specialised programme to suit a particular need
including change. Each typical generic course is built from a multitude of small
elements each with its own learning and practice. The process is to look for those
elements which are of particular relevance to your situation and remove those which
have no particular benefit under the circumstances.

Upgraded Web Site:
York Consulting Group have upgraded their web site to reflect the huge technological
change taking place in the IT industry. We have chosen Microsoft’s standards based
ASP.NET 3.5 technology which offers considerable data driven dynamic functionality.
Webs have been static since they were conceived many years ago but the opportunities
for dynamic web technology have been slowly developing over the last ten years or
so. This is the future of the web.
We believe that in the near future our site will continue to develop, providing
more convenience and better services to our many users.
The structure of the site has changed, putting more emphasis on project management
(PM) and the PM skill set. We have also included business change which may be managed
internally but is nevertheless a process of change. Whilst the smaller business
projects may not require the heavy duty systems available to the project manager,
there is still a large proportion of cross pollination between the two knowledge
areas – heavy duty projects and smaller but more controlled business change.
We have included a general management section where common skills can be found.
They are skills which we consider important and treat as core competencies.
Whilst the focus is on training we have also included Asta’s PowerProject products
as we believe they are highly relevant to project and change management. We have
included more of their products including risk analysis and site progress.
We have added pages for We have added pages for all our suppliers and partners including Asta Development
and Project Management Professional Learning – both from the United Kingdom.
Themed
Short Programmes:
York Consulting Group have introduced Themed training to help business realise more
benefit from training by reducing redundancy and maximising impact. In order to
develop a themed short programme we complete a needs analysis and then determine
the particular needs within a set theme which are most appropriate to the group.
So instead of a three-day course on a broad topic such as risk management, there
may result in a two-day course on the more relevant elements of the topic to your
own particular situation.
Whilst it takes a day or so for the needs analysis, the benefit is the single day
saved for all the attendees. Another benefit is that the course will be more concise,
covering more relevant information in the time frame.
In our themed programmes, the emphasis is on quality and value.
